No Counties targets are set by Ninnim
9:56am Wednesday 1st September 2010

PAUL Ninnim has not laid down any targets for his Bridport players ahead of their return to Southern Counties South.
The Blues get the new season underway on September 11 with a daunting trip to Trowbridge, who are also back in Southern Counties South following their relegation from South West One East.
Ninnim’s charges deservedly lifted the Dorset & Wilts One South crown last term but the coach has not set any goals for the forthcoming campaign.
He said: “Preparations have been going well, we’re just looking forward to getting started. We haven’t set any targets, it’s just a case of trying to win every game we play and go from there – which was our approach last season.
“We’ve got Trowbridge away in our first game and they came down from South West One East last season so I would have thought they will be very tough. However, you have to start somewhere.
“The majority of the squad is still together but we have lost both Wes Lewis and Ben Allen to university.
“We could do with some new players as we just about run two sides. However, I’m happy with the quality we have.”
Rivals Dorchester more than held their own in the division after promotion from Dorset & Wilts One South.
And Ninnim is hopeful the Blues can mirror the county town side’s efforts.
He added: “Hopefully we’ll do okay and give teams a run for their money. Seeing Dorchester do well in Southern Counties South last season does give us hope.”
Bridport bring their pre-season preparations to a close this Saturday when they entertain London-based outfit King’s College (3pm).
